附在下面的是之前研究雅歌書時看到的一首詩《有一地女子樂居其中》(There is a land, where women like to live)，作者為Joke Smit，將這首詩譯出 po 上網，算是提前慶祝母親節吧。英文原作放在中譯之後供網友參考。
有一地女子樂居其中，
女子的意思不是附屬、受驚嚇、矮小，
在彼女子不與男人競爭，
而為其姊妹並且被愛護，
臉頰的皺紋不代表寂寞，
而為智慧象徵，世上的導師，
年輕女子如此預備一生
安享生命到四十、六十、八十。
有一地女子樂居其中，
此地不視不義為其常軌，
兵役不限制為男性專利，
男人不是一直居於領導，
母親不僅等同家庭主婦，
不一直再調查誰強誰弱，
而是每人查驗誰需幫助
不僅是終日在準備開飯。
有一地男人也樂居其中，
對於男孩責任不難應付，
無人得勝需別人出代價，
男人的意義為照顧他人，
而不需隱藏悲傷與懼怕，
失業之人不是沒有價值，
女子男人不必彼此仇視，
而是一起為姊妹和兄弟。
有一地世人樂居其中，
作小孩不是擋大人走路，
弱小者得到極大的關懷
外地人不再被驅逐趕走
暴力不再被人們所接受，
情緒差時所有人來安慰，
這是世人樂於居住之地，
這地的居民彼此相隸屬。
There is a land, where women like to live,
where ‘woman’ doesn’t mean subordinate, intimidated, small,
where women don’t compete with men,
but can be sister and beloved,
where wrinkles do not stand for loneliness,
but signs of wisdom, like advisors of the earth,
where the young women so prepare a life
where they can reach the forty, sixty, eighty.
There is a land, where women like to live,
where injustice is not the normal course,
where service is not just restricted to one sex,
where men don’t always take the lead,
where mother is not just the same as housewife,
where it is always checked anew who’s weak or strong,
where ev’rybody sees who might need help
and just five hours work supply tomorrow’s bread.
There is a land, where man, too, want to live,
for boys the duty is not stubbornness,
where nobody wins at cost at others,
where being man means too: take care of others,
where you don’t have to hide your sadness and your fear,
where jobless men don’t think that they are less,
where women, men don’t have to hate each other,
but go together sisters and brothers now.
There is a land, where people like to live,
to be a child, it is not being in the way,
and weaker ones are treated with great care
and foreigners no longer sent away
and violence is not accepted any longer,
where ev’rybody comforts you when you are down.
This is the land where people like to live,
the land where people do belong together.
